What awaits you on this trip

Lake Zhasylkol
Lake Zhasylkol is a picturesque mountain gem hidden in the Dzungarian Alatau. Its water is strikingly turquoise, especially vibrant on sunny, cloudy days. The lake is surrounded by steep, wooded slopes, dense spruce stands, and a sense of complete silence, as if time moves more slowly here.

Lake Alakol
Lake Alakol is a large salt-bitter lake with clean, clear water and long pebble beaches. It is known for its healing waters and warm summer climate. The shores are open and spacious, often with wind and small waves, giving the lake a seaside atmosphere. SUPs are also available.

A cozy village house
We'll stay in a village house, where we'll be served simple, yet incredibly delicious, homemade food. We'll drink medicinal herbal infusions carefully collected in the area, and gather in the evenings around a campfire in the "frontal" place, immersing ourselves in an atmosphere of mystery and warm fellowship. We won't forget to visit the banya (sauna).
Route plan
General information about the route
We'll visit two beautiful lakes in the Dzungarian (Zhetysu) Alatau during the prime autumn season. Autumn is the perfect time for these places, especially Lake Zhasylkol. It turns a stunning aquamarine and other shades depending on the light, and the mountain road and trails leading to the lake are awash with all the autumn colors. You have to see it for yourself to appreciate the beauty created by nature. These places are rarely visited, which makes them even more breathtaking.
