Lake Issyk-Kul is the pearl of Kyrgyzstan, shining between the majestic Tien Shan mountain ranges. Its clear waters, ranging in shades from azure to deep blue, never completely freeze, and a soft blue haze almost always lingers over the surface. Lake Issyk-Kul is ideal for swimming, meditation, and contemplation.

The salt mine is an underground world with smooth corridors, soft, diffused light, and walls shimmering with salt crystals. Inside, the air is cool and exceptionally pure, saturated with natural minerals. We will definitely walk through the mine's mysterious corridors and discover this fantastical underground world.

Barskaun Gorge

The Barskaun Gorge is one of the most picturesque places in Kyrgyzstan, where rugged mountain slopes meet dense coniferous forests and roaring waterfalls. The road gradually ascends, revealing panoramas of rugged peaks, sparkling glaciers, and spacious alpine meadows. We'll also visit the 4,028-meter Suek Pass and the Barskaun Waterfalls.

Skazka Canyon is a fantastical corner of Kyrgyzstan with bizarre rock formations that seem to have stepped out of the pages of a fairy tale. This tour takes us through unusual and interesting places. Throughout the route, we'll see diverse and contrasting natural environments and experience the beginning of spring. We'll see canyons, mountain gorges and valleys, lakes, waterfalls, a salt mine, burning water, and other remarkable sites.

Almaty – Konorchek Canyon – Orto-Tokoy Reservoir – Kochkorka – Salt Mine – Burning Water – Lake Arakol – Southern Shore of the Islamic Republic (Canyon “127 Hours”) – Tamga – Barskaun Gorge and Highland Plateau (Suek Pass 4028m) – Barskaun Waterfalls – Skazka Canyon – Tamga – Hot Springs in Dzhuuku – Jeti-Oguz Gorge – Karakol – Ski Resort – Panorama of the Moon Canyon – Almaty.

Trip Timing

4 hours (6:00 – 10:00). Transfer from Almaty to Kordai Border (Stop at the Kompas gas station along the way. Coffee/breakfast).

1 hour (10:00 – 11:00). Border crossing (estimated time).

1 hour (11:00 – 12:00). Transfer to a cafe.

1 hour (12:00 – 13:00) Lunch at a cafe.

30 min (13:00 – 13:30). Transfer to Konorchek Canyon.

3.5 hours (13:30 – 17:00) Walk along the canyon.

1 hour (17:00 – 18:00) Transfer to a panoramic viewpoint on the Orto-Tokoy Reservoir.

30 min (18:00 – 18:30). Transfer to Kochkorka.

3.5 hours (18:30 – 22:00). Check-in at the guesthouse.

Dinner. Free time to relax.

1 hour (8:00 – 9:00) Breakfast.

4 hours (9:00 – 13:00) Transfer and excursion to the Salt Mine, Burning Water, and Lake Arakol.

1 hour (13:00 – 14:00) Lunch in Kochkor.

2.5 hours (14:00 – 16:30) Transfer to the “127 Hours” Canyon.

1 hour (16:30 – 17:30) Walk in the canyon.

1.5 hours (17:30 – 19:00) Sunset on the shore of Issyk-Kul and transfer to the guesthouse.

3 hours (9:00 – 12:00) Drive to the Suek Pass (4,028 m). We’ll ascend to the glaciers and see panoramic views of the mountains on the Arabel Plateau (3,800 m).

1 hour (12:00 – 13:00) Drive down to the Barskaun Gorge.

1 hour (13:00 – 14:00) Lunch with your own food. Snacks/sandwiches/tea, etc.

2 hours (14:00 – 16:00) Hike to beautiful waterfalls (Manasa Bowl, Barskaun).

1 hour (16:00 – 17:00) Drive to the Skazka Canyon.

1.5 hours (17:00 – 18:30) Walk and photo in the canyon.

30 minutes (18:30 – 19:00) Return to the guesthouse.

3 hours (19:00 – 22:00) Dinner, free time, sleep.

1 hour (8:00 – 9:00) Breakfast.

1.5 hours (9:00 – 10:30) Transfer to the hot springs.

1.5 hours (10:30 – 12:00) Short hike to the waterfall. Bathing in the springs.

1 hour (12.00 – 13.00) Transfer to the village. Lunch.

1 hour (13.00 – 14:00) Transfer to the Jeti-Oguz gorge.

2 hours (14.00 – 16:00) Visit to the Maiden’s Braids waterfall (if the road is open) and a panoramic point on the 7 Bulls rocks (Zheti-Oguz).

1 hour (16.00 – 17.00) Transfer to Karakol. Check-in at the hotel.

1 hour (17.00 – 18:00) Rest. Free time.

4 hours (18:00 – 22:00) Dinner at the best ethno-restaurant in Karakol*, free time, sleep.

1 hour (8:00 – 9:00) Breakfast.

3 hours (9:00 – 12:00) Transfer to the Karakol ski resort. If the cable car is running, we’ll ascend to a panoramic point with a 360-degree view.

1.5 hours (12.00 – 13:30) Descent to the city of Karakol and lunch.

1.5 hours (13:30 – 15:00) Transfer to the Kegen border.

1 hour (15.00 – 16:00) Border crossing.

1.5 hours (16.00 – 17.30) Transfer to the panorama of the Moon (Yellow) Canyon.

30 min (17.30 – 18:00) Photo and walk at the Moon Canyon.

3.5 hours (18.00 – 21:30) Return to Almaty.
