The river valley is covered with thickets of willow, oleaster, barberry, chingil and tamarisk. Animals include: fox, corsac, hare, mountain goat, weasel, ermine, jerboa, stone marten.

Temirlik
Temirlik Canyons are located not far from Charyn. It is about 220 km from Almaty. Temirlik is not as popular as the "Valley of Castles", but this is its charm. Less traveled paths and roads will allow you to fully immerse yourself in the wild conditions and enjoy the silence and beauty of this canyon. Here you can find vegetation and set up a camp in the shade of trees. The flora and fauna of this area is quite diverse. The river valley is covered with thickets of willow, oleaster, barberry, chingil and tamarisk. Animals include: fox, corsac, hare, mountain goat, weasel, ermine, jerboa, stone marten. In Temirlik there are rocky clamps and babbling waterfalls, and a bright green forest belt stretches along the bottom of the canyon. Poplars and ash occupy a special place among the trees.
Trip Timing
- 1 day
- 4 hours (8:00-12:00). Transfer from Almaty to Temirlik Canyon.
- 2 hours (12:00-14:00). Walk along the canyon along the river and relict ash trees.
- 1 hour (14:00-15:00). Rest near the river, snack.
- 30 min (15:00-15:30). Return to the car.
- 4 h (15:30-19:30). Return to Almaty.
