What awaits you on this trip

Lake Kel-Suu
Nestled in the mountains, this lake with cold emerald water is surrounded by rock walls and misty peaks. The atmosphere here is austere and mystical, as if time slows down amid these wild landscapes. Lake Kel-Suu is a unique gem of Kyrgyzstan.

Lake Sonkol
Sonkol is a high-mountain lake in the vast Kyrgyz steppes, surrounded by gentle hills and pastures. In summer, endless green expanses, nomadic yurts, and the silence of true nature sparkle here. The sunsets are magical. It's the second-largest lake.

Lake Issyk-Kul
Issyk-Kul is a huge mountain lake with crystal-clear water, surrounded by the majestic Tien Shan mountain ranges. It is renowned for its mild climate, beaches, and clear blue expanse. Even in winter, the lake never freezes, making it an ideal place for relaxation and swimming.

Mountain passes
Kyrgyzstan's mountain passes are narrow roads among majestic ridges, where wind and clouds play on the peaks, and every bend offers breathtaking views of endless valleys and glaciers. One of the significant passes on the 33 Parrots trip.

Fairy Tale Canyon
Skazka Canyon in Kyrgyzstan is a narrow canyon with bizarre rock formations painted in fiery shades of red, orange, and yellow. Its undulating walls, hundreds of arches and curves create the feeling of being in a living fairy tale, where each rock seems to tell its own story.

More about the route
Lake Kel-Suu (Kol-Tetiri) is located in the Kok-Kiya River valley in the southeastern part of Naryn Oblast. The lake is of glacial origin, sandwiched between high monolithic cliffs. It is considered one of the most beautiful in the KG, unique in its own way. Situated at an altitude of 3,500 meters above sea level, its hues change depending on the season and light. Kel-Suu means “incoming water” in Russian. The climate here is quite harsh; even in the warmer months it can be cold, and the weather changes quite quickly. The valley leading to the lake itself is incredibly picturesque. High, jagged peaks guard the valley, and herds of colorful yaks and horses graze on the green meadows along the river. The valley also features traditional yurts, where we will stay and sample delicious traditional cuisine. They will also provide a cozy and warm sleep, as… They are heated, and nights can be freezing even in the height of summer. The lake is large, and only a small portion is visible from the shore; you can book a boat tour to see its distant shores.
Lake Sonkol is located at an altitude of 3,010 meters above sea level. This lake is quite large, second only to Lake Issyk-Kul in size. The lake is freshwater and quite deep—its maximum depth is 14 meters. Low hills surround the lake, cattle graze, and yurt camps are located nearby, making the area picturesque.
